Task 1c: Starting out on BAPP

Today I made my video! It's much longer than 45 seconds, but I had a lot of ideas and to be honest I love making videos! It could easily become a hobby of mine!

Let me know what you think.

Wow! Loved it and definitely had a few chuckle moments! Have you got a Mac/what software did you use? I loved the clip editing and the way it all fitted together.

I just used Windows Movie Maker, which is a bit of a pain because its not great software, but it's manageable!

Hey Liam! I really enjoyed watching your video. I don't know if you noticed but I had some accent trouble as well except from my problem was that as soon as I started speaking my English suddenly became like the Queen's!
I felt like I really got to know the real you here, your personality really shone through, I can't wait to meet you in real life.

Wow! I am really impressed with your video, I have never made a video before and am quite nervous about the technicalities of editing etc... I hope to get started soon. But it will be my first 'home video' ever so I'm excited but I keep putting off. This has inspired me to get going! Thanks Liam!

HI liam your video is great, and very creative. I am worried about filming mine as i do not like being infornt of the camera but your video has shown me that there are other ways of doing this task i loved how you have used the paper and pictures to express how you feel. I am now feeling better about starting mine and even a little bit excited!! so thankyou and watch this space!

So, I was really worried about what I was supposed to even say on my video but watching this was extremely entertaining yet wonderfully simple and I am now quite looking forward to getting started. Thank you for getting rid of the fear!

Great job mate.
Love the creative and personal twist you put on the task. I felt, at times, as though i was watching an episode of family guy. Well done

This was so enjoyable to watch. It is very creative and reminded my of an episode or 'art attack!'
I thought your use of dance poses at the beginning was a good idea, to let the watcher visually see that you are a dancer.

Wow Liam, what a hobby!! I can tell you certainly spent a lot of time and focus on this video and what a result!! Extremely entertaining, yet so fitting for this business! You said what you needed to say but mixed it up with lots of humour and creativity!

I'd love to come up with an idea where I didn't have to be infront of the camera, however I am extremely inexperienced in the whole 'make a video' area that I think for my first attempt I may have to try it the good old fashioned way, if I'm lucky, ill be able to edit a bit of music on there!

Thats another thing, the not as obvious bits of your video that really made it stand out for me. Your choice of music at the beginning, and using the still shots to coincide with the beats was great stuff!

Well done you!! :-)

Hey Liam. Do you know how to link your video to the BAPP channel on you tube because im not sure how to do it and wondered if you did? Im a bit confused!

Liam said...

Hi Emily,

That is something I still have no idea how to do. I keep meaning to get in touch with Paula and find out, but never get round to it! Let me know if you succeed first, and vice versa!

Libguide today -

'Everyone - in the past people have chosen to put their digital videos up on their own YourTube channels - but I can put them up on the BAPP YouTube if you prefer - I will try to link them . Let me know if I can help. (PN 11/10/11).'

I think you're OK!

Amazing!! Loved watching this Liam! The quirky music and editing, great idea using messages on pieces of paper; it really showed your personality and obvious creative streak.

You've definatly inspired me to come up with something creative!

Hi Liam - great to see how imaginative you have been with your video. I had great fun doing mine last term - did mine on imovie and really enjoyed messing about with it. Have a look if you like...

I am on module 2 at the moment and trying to track down folk from other modules that I may be able to share ideas with. It looks as though there are lots of people already in your network and communicating with you (great work!) so if there are any actors out there reading this on Liam's blog...get in touch and we can follow each other and share some thoughts.

Loved the comment tracker thing as well - it's been the constant problem of keeping conversations going on this course. I'm going to share it with those on module 2 as well.
